Project Manager

Position Summary:

This dynamic role has strategic and operational responsibility for building, managing and integrating our technology. This role is the primary keeper and manager of our project schedules. You will work closely with Product Owner, Project Directors and Studio Leadership to ensure they are managing the project on-time, to established quality bars and on budget.

Essential Duties:

  • Organizes and maintains the project schedule
  • Assists teams with scope and deadline management during sprints and milestones
  • Designs basic comps and work with Product Owner, Producers to create proper final designs
  • Works with Product Owner, Producers and Directors to establish a project and feature roadmap
  • Partners with Product Owner, Producers and Directors to manage scope, quality and prioritization of work
  • Responsible for full operational aspects of game development, including establishing a development framework, reporting, risk management, capacity planning and resource management
  • Supports the building and maintenance of a high-performance team structure
  • Plans, manages and meets the project quality objectives the Product Owner, Producer establishes.
  • Challenges internal and external issues that could impact the project constraints
  • Contributes to major process innovations at the studio and project levels
  • Participates in long-term strategic planning for the business
  • Identifies, analyze and helps resolve team organizational issues and monitor progress
  • Proactively identifies project risks, issues and triggers
  • Establishes contingency plans as needed
  • Communicates regularly with key stakeholders to provide project status updates
  • Collaborates with team to achieve project deliverables and goals
  • Manages the change-request process to ensure all workflows and processes are defined and documented clearly
  • Facilitates communication among teams as needed
  • Manages offshore development team and animators

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years as a project manager
  • PMI certification nice to have, but not required
  • Familiarity working with Agile, Gmail apps, Gantt charts, Basecamp, design tools and others
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development
  • A great team player, ready to share knowledge and learn from others
  • Excels at self- and team organization
  • Inspires the team through charisma, work ethic and analytical abilities
  • Able to create, manage, and maintain custom team reports using Excel and other standard tools

  • Valid driver’s license, car insurance and ability to travel locally
  • Ability to work hours needed to communicate with our offshore developers
  • Computer literacy of an Apple based environment
  • Ability to influence and rally others around the vision of our organization
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Action-oriented and flexible with an innovative approach to operational management

Physical Environment and Demands:

• Typical office and school environment operating office equipment such as computers, printers and copy machines

• Exposure to young learners

• Requires ability to sit, stand, stoop and bend

• Requires ability to walk and carry up to 15 lbs. on occasion

Embedded Educator Coach - multiple positions

Part Time Contract, 15 hours / week

Position Summary:

This dynamic role has strategic and operational responsibility for integrating our technology with students and teachers at schools throughout Minneapolis. At all times, you represent Literacy Matters in the field as a brand ambassador; guiding and training the next generation of learners.

Essential Duties:

  • Guides and trains the school’s teachers on our technology; including the teacher portal, data and evaluation process
  • Interacts with students and teachers in a learning environment
  • Manages inventory of technology cart
  • Able to install updates, troubleshoot and manage bugs, WiFi and delivering of technology cart to schools
  • Facilitates repairs and maintenance of technology when it’s not functioning with 3rdparty vendor
  • Acts as a communication liaison between school and Literacy Matters Foundation

  • 3+ years of experience working with children or in schools
  • 1 year of experience working with Apple based products, specifically an iPad
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development

Other requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license, car insurance and ability to travel locally
  • Ability to pass a full background check
  • School # 1 – ability to work every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00p-4:15p
  • School # 2 – time and day TBD
