Assessing the American History Idol Curriculum Unit

To accompany the American History Idol Curriculum Unit, EDC has created a pre-and post-test to be administered before and after implementation of the unit.  By comparing results on these two tests, teachers will be able to measure student growth in the following areas: categorizing information, identifying main ideas and supporting details, and providing support for a main idea by writing a persuasive paragraph.

The assessment materials include the following: an introduction, guidelines for administering the pre- and post-tests, pre- and post-test biographies, the pre- and post-tests, and scoring guides for the pre- and post-tests.
